Cutting the Cord

If you are like many Americans today, you have hundreds of channels on TV, but can’t find much of anything that you want to watch. The average American with cable or satellite TV service pays over $106 every month for those hundreds of channels while typically watching only a handful of them. With an increasing number of streaming services becoming available, more and more people are cutting the cord from cable and satellite TV service providers.

What do you need to cut the cord? The must-haves are a TV (preferably a smart TV) and an Internet connection. You will need an OTA (Over The Air) antenna if you want to pick up local channels. If you do not have a smart TV, or if it does not provide the content you desire, then you will need some other streaming device (smart DVD/Bluray player; a streaming device, such as a Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, etc.). You will need to select the streaming service or services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.) that best suit you.

If you are tech savvy this is very familiar to you, but if you are technology challenged, let CIPCOM Computer Services help you with selection, installation and orientation of the equipment and services that best meet your viewing preferences.
